Purple shampoo is an essential if you have blonde hair. Keeping that blonde hair bright and cool toned isn’t easy – I’m sharing my top three favorite purple shampoo brands that work wonders!

I love these three brands because they leave my hair looking better than before in color and health. Some shampoos can be very drying. Overall, these brands did not leave my hair more dry, thank goodness!

The top three purple shampoo (and conditioner) brands I’m sharing are affordably priced too!

How Often Should I Use Purple Shampoo?

In my opinion, it just depends on your hair and your blonde hair goals for how often you should use purple shampoo. Some people use it every time they wash their hair, I typically do mine once a week or every few washes.

If you prefer very bright, cool toned blonde you most likely will want to use it once a week or more. Try it out and see how often you feel your hair needs it.

Every time I feel my hair is dull, brassy or just not as cool toned I know it’s time to purple it. If you don’t have natural blonde hair unfortunately, this is just unavoidable over time. Luckily an easy fix though!

My Top Three Favorite Purple Shampoo Brands:

1. Fanola

Fanola haircare is amazing! This is one of my favorites that I’ve been using for years now. The product is made in Italy. You can check out the amazing results and before + after photos on their Instagram.

I’ve found that the bottle actually goes really far as the product is very pigmented and strong! It takes me months to go through a bottle of this (not using it every wash).

If your goal is to have very cool toned blonde hair this is definitely the brand you want to go with!

2. L’Oreal

L’Oreal really surprised me with their purple shampoo! I was not expecting to love it, but I did. This is the first purple conditioner that I’ve actually loved and felt like it made a difference. Typically I feel like most brands have a good shampoo, but not conditioner also.

I tried this brand out due to its price point – the smallest size is 6.8 fl oz. for about $7. This brand lasts a long time and is very affordable. Very worth it to get both the shampoo and conditioner.

L’Oreal products are usually very scented and strong, which I’m not a fan of. However, their purple products are NOT strongly scented.

Personally, I prefer products with little to no fragrance in them due to irritation and allergies. I loved the L’oreal products, if you do prefer more scented products I would try out Kristin Ess.

3. Kristin Ess

Okay, I have to admit it to y’all.. I definitely DID try Kristin Ess products strictly because she spells her name the same way as I do HAHA. It’s rare to come by.

I did like the results of these products. Kristin Ess’s products lather really well and leave your blonde hair soft, clean and brighter.

As I said before, Kristin’s products are a bit more stronger in scent. Depending on your preference if you like fragrant haircare this will be the perfect brand for you.
